A three-day training for TSC Sub County Directors kicked off yesterday in Naivasha after the one for Curriculum Support Officers (CSOs) ended.
The training continues today on its second day.
The training, which brings together close to 400 SCDs from all the 47 counties, has been organized by the commission for purposes of equipping field officers with knowledge and skills that will help them in effectively discharging the decentralized functions of TSC as per its Constitutional mandate.
Teachers play a central role in the successful implementation of the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC), hence the decision by the commission to equip its field officers to be able to support the teachers in this very important role.
Among the facilitators at the training/workshop are directors from all the directorates at TSC headquarters.
The venue is the same one that the CSOs held theirs, ending their sessions last evening after their own 3-day event that benefitted the officers from the field, both regular and SNE. They were also taken through various topics meant to improve their service delivery.
