University of Nairobi (UoN) alumni association in Homa Bay has mourned the late General Francis Ogolla as a brilliant man who discharged his services diligently.
On learning about his demise, they assembled at a Hotel in Homa Bay town to hold prayers for God to give them courage and comfort the deceased’s family.
Led by Eng Lukas Otieno, they appealed to the government to carry out investigations into the chopper crash that claimed the life of the decorated soldier and those of his colleagues and inform the public.
“As we mourn these fallen heroes, we appeal to the Cabinet Secretary (CS) for Security and Interior to show us the truth on this matter,” said Otieno.
General Francis Ogolla and other senior officers perished yesterday after the military chopper they were flying in fell off the sky and busrt into flames in Elgeiyo Marakwet County where they had gone to inspect schools that have been deserted due to banditry.
