Kisii KESSHA thrown into mourning as Vice Chair dies in accident

Ruth Inganga Orwaru, Principal St Augustine Otamaba Girls, died in an accident.

Kisii County teaching fraternity is engulfed in shock and mourning after the sudden death of St Augustine Otamba Girls High School principal Ruth Onganga Orwaru.

According to Kisii Central KESSHA Chairman Fred Mogaka, the principal met her death following a hit and run incident by a motor vehicle at her Chabera home in Nyamira County.

Kisii Central KESSHA Chairman Fred Mogaka confirmed the demise of Otamba Girls Principal Ruth Orwaru.

“It is with deep sorrow as KESSHA Kisii Central to announce that we have lost our Vice Chair and Principal of Otamba Girls this afternoon,” read the message from the chairman, detailing that she was on her way to church when a car veered off the road and fatally rammed into her.

He said the deceased was rushed to Kisumu Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival because of internal bleeding.

“We made arrangements and took the body to Kisumu Hospital morgue after consultations with her family,” Mogaka said.
