Kisii National School alumni mourn an academic champion

The alumni of Kisii National School are mourning their longest-time best academic performer title holder.

Benard Adera Arum died in hospital after a long illness bravery born.

The late Orumu was the academic 1985 hero, whose academic performance remains unchallenged by the school to date.

According to one of his former classmates Mr. Edward Ofuogo, the late Arum was a true academic legend during his life.

According to the school record, Arum joined Kisii School in 1982 under admission number 4942 in form one.

He was domiciled at the Kiong’anyo dormitory in the school.

The brilliant young man at that time sat for his “O” Level examinations in 1985 and emerged the best candidate in the country after attaining Division one with 6 distinctions then proceeded to Alliance High School for his “A” leaves in pursuit of education.

After successful completion of his form six studies in Maths, Physics, and Chemistry, he was admitted to Nairobi University to pursue a degree in Civil Engineering.

The studious and zealous academician was deployed across the nation in different capacities on transport infrastructure improvement.

His last posting was when he served Siaya as the county Executive Member (CEM)for Roads, Transport, and Public during the Rain of Gover Jack Rangumba.

Even after his death, his name still features prominently on the School Board in the school Assembly Hall as the best student at the Kisii National School.

“And the grave is rich indeed let the great brain rest.” Said Margaret Sombeh of Siaya County.
