Kisii University lecturers have vowed to picket daily and continue downing their tools until the government gives in to their demands.

Led by the varsity’s UASU boss, Kaputeni Omayo, they said they were aware the strike might interrupt university programmes including December’s graduation ceremony but blamed the State for pushing them to a corner.

Their strike is part of the nationwide industrial action by lecturers that began on October 29, after failed talks between them and the government on a return-to-work formula full implementation of their Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
