The Western region winner of an ongoing Safaricom’s promotion has pledged to construct a computer laboratory in her area’s secondary school as a way of giving back to the community.

The winner, Shneider Boyani, won Ksh1 million and an additional Ksh250,000 for a community project of her choice.

Boyani, a mother of three from Serem in Vihiga county, could not hide her joy and excitement during the awarding ceremony in Sabatia, Kakamega county.

“I will also initiate a feeding programme to ensure that underprivileged children go to school,” she said.

“I was in shock when I got the call from Safaricom. This is a huge blessing! I plan to use the Ksh1 million to stock my shop and finish the construction of my mother’s house,” she added.

The promotion dubbed ‘Shine Kenya Shinda Mamilii Kama Bingwa’, has awarded 30 weekly millionaires since its launch in May.

This initiative not only rewards individual customers but also aims to uplift communities through various charitable contributions.
