Varsity invites applications to study TVET programmes on full scholarship

The University of Embu (UoEm) in partnership with M-Pesa Foundation is inviting applications for scholarships to pursue Technical and Vocational Educational and Training (TVET) programmes at UoEm TVET Institute.

The programmes will equip the youth with marketing skills which will enhance their chances to secure employment opportunities and create jobs as well.

In addition, the scholarship covers tuition fees, monthly allowance for the period of study and basic tools of trade upon graduation.

The programmes shall commence in November, while the application deadline is October 7, 2024.

The scholarships will be grouped into three cohorts to be admitted every January, beginning in 2025, 2026 and 2027.

The first cohort of 400 beneficiaries shall be drawn from Embu, Nyandarua, Homa Bay, Turkana, Meru, Nairobi, Nyamira, Muranga, Busia and Nakuru counties.

To apply, applicants must be Kenyan citizens aged between 15 and 30 years old. They must also meet the minimum academic requirements for the chosen programme.

Further, applications from persons with disabilities and those from humble backgrounds will be prioritized.

The programmes on offer include the following programmes covering levels three (3) to six (6); Cosmetology, Repair and Maintenance of Portable and Mobile Electronic Devices, Repair and Maintenance of Two-and Three-Wheeled Motorcycles, and Building and Construction.

The minimum requirements for each programme include academic qualifications or prior learning experience, including the informal or formal sector (jua kali and work-related engagement and sectors).
