University of Nairobi staff will have to wait a little bit longer for their July 2023 salary.
The institution’s administration termed this as circumstances beyond control.
According to an internal memo seen by Education News, dated August 3, 2023, and signed by the institution’s Vice Chancellor Prof Julius Ogeng’o, the concerned parties are working to resolve the salaries delays expeditiously.
“We are writing this letter to extend our heartfelt apologies to our esteemed staff for the delay in payment of July 2023,
“The delay was due to circumstances beyond our control. As a caring organization, we are working towards resolving the matter expeditiously so that your salaries are paid soon,” the memo read in part.
The institution has of late been plunged into leadership feuds that saw the Vice Chancellor Prof Stephen Kiama proceed to a six months sabbatical leave and Prof Ogeng’o appointed as a VC in an acting capacity.
