Two suspects are in police custody for attempting to impersonate candidates for KCSE in Kilifi and Nairobi as the exams kicked off yesterday.
The two were arrested in the two counties by hawk-eyed supervisors and handed over to the authorities.
KNEC Chief Executive Officer David Njengere said the two are being interrogated by the police to assist in the investigations.

“Strict measures have been employed to ensure there will be no malpractices during the examination period,” said the CEO.
Speaking in Murang’a East Sub-county as the papers were distributed for the second day, Njengere said the measures have been employed to ensure delivery of credible national examinations.
One of the measures is to have the examination centre gates remaining open to ensure those monitoring the examination have access to the school when the candidates are writing their examinations.
“As soon as the vehicle carrying the examination materials enters the school compound, the gate must remain open. This will allow officers monitoring the exams to easily access the exam centres to check if there are any malpractices,” Njengere said.
