TVET Principals reshuffled, Deputies promoted in countrywide changes by MoE

The State Department for Technical, Vocational Education and Training (TVET) has made a major reshuffle of Principals at various technical and vocational colleges across the country.

In the changes, several deputy principals have been promoted to head institutions.

In Western region, Musuya Herbert of Sirisia Technical and Vocational College (TVC) in Bungoma County has been deployed to Webuye West TVC replacing Lilian Simali who now moves to Bungoma North TVC.

Francis Miheso has gone to Dr Daniel Wako Murende TVC in Matayos, Busia County. He takes over from Lawrence Ongati who has moved to Chamasiri TVC in Teso North.

Ongati on the other hand, replaces Joseph Ogoti who has since retired.

At Chevaywa TVC, Patrick Shiyonga moves to Navakholo TVC in Kakamega. He has been replaced at his previous station by Patrick Chinyingi who was promoted from a deputy principal at Shamberere National Polytechnic in the same county.

The immediate former Principal of Navakholo TVC, Gilbert Ekhavi retired recently.

Emmanuel Wamalwa of Bunyala TVC in Busia County moves to Kisiwa Technical Training Institute (TTI) in Bungoma County to replace Dr Godfrey Murunga who moves to Bungoma National Polytechnic.

Wamalwa’s place at Bunyala has been taken over by Juma Wasilwa who was previously the deputy principal at Bumbe TTI in the same county.

Newton Shivachi who was the deputy principal at Michuki National Polytechnic in Murang’a County becomes the new Principal of Ebukanga TVC in Vihiga. He replaces Clara Timothy who was transferred to Sirisia TVC.

Also affected in the changes is Boniface Stedy Likhako who was the Principal at Turbo TVC in Uasin Gishu County but has now been moved to Musakasa TTI in Bungoma. The immediate former principal of Musakasa Geoffrey Khisa retired in December.

The replacement of Likhako at Turbo was not immediately clear.

In Rift Valley, the Maasai Mara TVC Principal James Basweti moves to Nyamira National Polytechnic (formerly Ekerubo Gietai TVC). He takes over from Geoffrey Andama who has been deployed to Coast National Polytechnic in similar capacity.

Andama takes the place of Mary Muthoka who retired recently.

Basweti has been replaced by Rachel Kimani at Maasai Mara TVC in Narok. Kimani has been serving as the deputy Principal in charge of Academic Affairs at Nyeri National Polytechnic in Nyeri.

Dr Rosebella Chukwu, the immediate former principal of Bungoma National Polytechnic, has been deployed to Maasai National Polytechnic in Kajiado. She replaces Bwambok Isaac who shifts base to Baringo National Polytechnic. Bwambok replaces Josephat Kipkemboi who retired in December.

In Nakuru, Gilgil TVC Principal Sammy Mwangi has been transferred but his destination is not clear. He has been replaced by Dr Ngugi Mbugua from Nyandarua National Polytechnic where he was serving as the deputy Principal.

Phidis Karimi Masai is the new Kitelakapel TVC in West Pokot. She replaces Cheruiyot Chirchir who retired. Karimi was his deputy.

In Central region, Lari TVC in Kiambu has a new Principal, David Kariuki whose previous station was Kirinyaga Central TVC. He takes over Cosmas Mwangi who moves to Githunguri TVC, Kiambu in the same the same capacity.

Mercy Kirimi, who was the deputy Principal at Meru National Polytechnic, takes reins at Tharaka Nithi National Polytechnic. She replaces Lucy Mukiri who was earlier transferred to PC Kinyanjui TTI in Nairobi.

Elsewhere in Coast region, Stephen Ngome, the principal of Taita Taveta National Polytechnic has retired. The new principal was not known immediately.
