TVET principals in Coast region reshuffled

Five principals of Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) institutions in Coast region have been reshuffled to work in other areas, Education News has reliably established.

Speaking to Education News in his office at Uhuru Na Kazi building in Mombasa town recently, Coast regional TVET director, Peter Mwangi revealed that Godoma Technical Training Institute Principal Seif Hafsa has been transferred to Ahmed Shahame Mwidani Technical Training Institute in Mombasa.

He further disclosed that Seif has been replaced by Sabastian Bidigu from Ahmed Shahame Mwidani Technical Training Institute.

“The two principals swapped places,” added the Director.

Msambweni Technical Training Institute Principal, Mariz Kimonyi has been transferred to Kinango  Technical Training Institute, and he has been replaced by Victor  Mchana from Kinango  Technical Training Institute.

Kenya Coast National Polytechnic, Mary Muthoka has retired, she has been replaced by Geoffrey Andama.

Coast Institute of Technology Principal, Stephen Ngome has retired, and he has been replaced by one Kalama.

At the same time, the Coast regional TVET director stated that Matuga Technical and Vocational College in Kwale and Watamu  Technical and Vocational College in Kilifi County were established last year.

Meanwhile, Mwangi has urged Coast residents to enroll their children who completed Form Four some years back in TVET to be imparted with basic technical skills in various fields.

“Technical Training Institutions play a vital role in the country that of preparing the youth for future self-employment,” said the Director.
