The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has announced promotions for 36,275 teachers across nine grades as from Monday next week.

TSC has set aside 12, 716 promotions for senior masters under grade C4, while senior teachers under C2 have up to 10, 819 to be elevated.
The commission has set aside 1,049 promotions for head teachers under grade C5 and 108 promotional positions for senior principals.
Another 700 promotion have been slated for senior teachers in special needs schools in grade C2 while 200 more positions for senior lecturers in Teachers’ training colleges.
“Those who are interested in the positions should send their applications by September 8, 2023, through the TSC portal,” the circular read.
According to information provided to Parliament on Wednesday, TSC will also hire 450 extra new secondary school teachers to improve instruction in Junior Secondary Schools (JSS).
This announcement comes barely a week after TSC effected the promotion of 14,000 teachers which had been pending from the last financial year.
However, only 10,833 primary school teachers will be promoted to work in JSS out of the 36,829 teachers that were targeted for promotion.
