Again, next week, the same CSOs will be retooling teachers at county level unlike their regular colleagues who will carry out the exercise at the zonal and sub-county levels.
The upcoming retooling of JSS teachers from next week will be quite different from the past as teachers will be taken through a rigorous process of unpacking the curriculum design.
This will encompass how specific subjects will be taught, putting into consideration the various categories of learners especially those with special needs.
CSO SNE will for this time be equipped with skills that will assist them in the implementation of the curriculum for learners with special needs. Also, teachers will be equipped with knowledge on characteristics of learners in JSS, learner-centred pedagogies for JSS, characteristics of learners in pre-vocational level (for SNE schools), and communication skills ideal for junior school learners.
As teachers will be retooled next week, it is expected that private schools will join their public counterparts in in the five-day crucial exercise.
