Bungoma’s Friends Teremi Boys High School principal Dr Elphas Luvaso has been transferred to Malava Boys High in Kakamega North County in abrupt changes made by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
The outgoing principal has swapped position with Malava Boys chief principal John Wakwabubi who will take his place at Teremi.
Kakamega Teachers Service Commission Director Wilson Koros has confirmed the changes.
Dr Luvaso has been facing opposition from parents and the surrounding community, which he claimed was fueled by tribalism and politics.

The unrest that happened on the night of Monday, January 20 led to significant damage of the principal’s residence and car.
The unrest was reportedly sparked by students’ dissatisfaction with academic performance, whereby several of them scored a Y in the 2024 KCSE.
The school Alumni Secretary James Wanzala (pictured below) welcoming the transfer, he said that the community is hoping the new principal will make necessary changes that will see the school improve performance and bring harmony in the community.

As reported last week, chaos erupted at Teremi Boys last week as students went on a rampage, forcing anti-riot police to intervene.
The students reportedly engaged in destructive behaviour within the school compound.
Ministry of Education is yet release an official report on the incident, and the school management has remained tight-lipped.
Parents and members of the community are anxiously waiting for answers as the investigation unfolds.
