TSC Director tells police to bring to book criminals who abuse school girls

Nakuru TSC County Director Japheth Kariuki has told the police to arrest and prosecute the people who abuse school girls, particularly during holidays.

Kariuki said school girls should be accorded adequate time to learn and nobody should be allowed to meddle in their future, saying the government will not watch as hundreds of young girls are abused by adults.

“As government officers, we will not allow few people to destroy the lives of school girls because these are our children and we must protect them and give them a better future,” said Kariuki, asking parents not to collude with criminals to settle defilement cases out of court.

He urged parents to work hard and provide basic needs to their children so that they do not think of looking out for help from people who will exploit them.

He also warned school girls against accepting gifts from strangers who will later prey on them, advising them to live within their means instead of allowing their desire for big things to compromise on their dignity.

Kariuki was speaking at Njoro Girls High School in Njoro Sub-county, Nakuru County, when he attended the prize-giving day.
