TSC announces how counties will share new teaching jobs as application begins

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has announced how the distribution of 2,824 replacement of teachers in secondary schools will be done after a number of teachers exited the service through natural attrition.

Through a notice, TSC has outlined the number of teachers who will join which school and in what subject after the positions fell vacant.

Some 209 teachers will be posted across schools in the 15 sub counties of Kiambu County, 53 teachers will be placed in all the nine sub counties of Nyandarua.

In Kirinyaga, 75 teachers will be posted in the five sub counties. 129 teachers will share slots the nine sub counties of Muranga while 124 in the eight sub counties of Nyeri.

In the Coastal region, 39 teachers will be posted in the nine sub counties of Kilifi County. 28 teachers will go to the seven sub counties of Kwale, five teachers will take up the available positions of the three sub counties of Lamu.

Some 40 teachers will take up positions in the six sub counties of Mombasa, 20 in the four sub counties of Taita Taveta and 12 teachers will be posted in the two sub counties of Tana River.

In the Eastern region, Embu which comprises six sub counties will see 53 teachers posted there. Isiolo will have 12 teachers being placed in four sub counties. In Kitui, 86 teachers will be distributed across the 17 sub counties while 104 teachers will be distributed in the nine sub counties of Machakos.

Some 80 teachers will be employed by TSC in the nine sub counties of Makueni with Marsabit having nine teachers taking up the vacant positions in the five sub counties. Meru will see 119 teachers take up positions in the 16 sub counties and 47 teachers will be employed in six sub counties of Tharaka Nithi.

In Nairobi region, 124 teachers will be posted in 12 sub counties while in the North Eastern 27 teachers will be recruited in the 10 sub counties of Garissa, nine in the six sub counties of Mandera and six teachers will occupy vacant positions in the four sub counties of Wajir.

In Nyanza, 63 teachers will be posted in Homabay, Siaya (81) Migori (53), Nyamira (61), Kisumu (101) and Kisii will have  101 as well.

In Rift Valley, 37 teachers will take up vacant positions in Baringo, Bomet (32) Elgeyo Marakwet (28), Kajiado (39), Kericho (40) while 49 will be hired in Laikipia.

Also, 127 teachers will be posted in Nakuru, Nandi (63), Narok (28), Samburu (10), Trans Nzoia (58), Turkana (12), Uasin Gishu (60) and 15 teachers will be posted to West Pokot.

In Western, Bungoma county will get 127 slots, Busia (41), Kakamega (141) and 64 teachers will be recruited in Vihiga.

A candidate must be a registered teacher with TSC.

Interested and qualified candidates should submit their applications online through TSC’s website, at www.tsc.go.ke  under ‘Careers’ or teachersonline.tsc.go.ke from today and not later than 13th  January 2025.

To qualify for recruitment, a candidate should be a Kenyan citizen, should have a diploma in education.

The teachers recruited will serve on Permanent and Pensionable terms of service.
