The top school in Kajiado County in the 2022 KCSE, Oloolaiser High School, has continued its dominance in the region as it also tops in 2023 exam.
The wonderful results impress that 88.55 per cent will get automatic slots in the university after one student got a straight A, 24 got A – , 51 B +, 69 B , 45 B -, 18 C+, 16 C, 9 C- and 1 D+.
The national school had a mean grade of 8.7 from an entry of 227, Chief Principal James Mungai attributing the good performance to discipline on the part of students, teamwork on the side of staff, and support from parents.
In close comparison is Moi Girls Isinya of Kajiado East, which also also posted sterling results, one student scoring a Plain A, 26 getting A – , 40 B +, 83 B, 53 B – , 34 C + , 21 C, 8 C- and 1 D- from an entry of 267 candidates.
With a mean point of 8.52, school Chief Principal Alice Sayo said the performance is an improvement from 7.718 in 2020, 7.93 in 2021 and 8.09 in 2022.
Further, Olkejuado High School managed to send 158 students to university, with a mean grade of 6.140.
Oloitoktok Boys in Kajiado South also recorded a good performance; the school had 128 boys who qualified for direct university entry.
Kimana Girls in Kajiado South also performed better than previous years, recording a mean grade of 6.855 from 6.407 in 2022. 78 girls qualified for direct entry to university.
The school had an entry of 125 candidates; 1 B+ , 8 B , 27 B- ,42 C+, 32 C , 13 C- and 2 D+.
Nkaimurunya Secondary in Kajiado North is the best day school in the county, 54 candidates qualifying for university compared to 32 in 2022.The school top two students had a B- each, and all posted a mean grade of 4.91.
The school principal Peter Kamau said the performance is due to cooperation from all stakeholders.
