The 2025 Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) Term One Games for the Western Region Rugby 15s commenced this morning with teams battling for dominance. The opening day had intense competition, heartbreaks, and dominant displays as teams set the tone for the tournament.
In the first encounter of the day, Vihiga High School proved too strong for Mundika Boys, securing a hard-fought 13-5 victory.
Vihiga’s solid defence and tactical execution gave them an edge, ensuring they started their campaign on a high.

Meanwhile, Musingu High edged past Bungoma High in a tightly contested match, winning 10-5.
Musingu capitalized on crucial scoring opportunities, while Bungoma High fought valiantly but ultimately lost.
St. Peters Mumias showcased their dominance with a commanding 27-0 victory over Kamusinde Boys.
Their fluid attacking play and rock-solid defence left Kamusinde struggling to make an impact. This emphatic win sends a strong message to their rivals as they aim for the title.
Senende blanked Kolanya with a 17-0 victory in another standout performance. Senende’s well-structured gameplay and clinical finishing ensured they controlled the match from start to finish.
With the tournament in full swing, all eyes are on the next round of fixtures as teams battle for a spot in the latter stages.
