Three children from Nyamgori village of Nyamira County died in a mysterious night fire that engulfed their house on Wednesday night.
According to family, the three minors were asleep when the fire broke out. The siblings aged four, nine and twelve were pupils at Gachuba Primary School in Nyamira County.
The cause of the fire is yet to be known, but Gachuba Ward MCA Henry Obwaya asked parents and teachers to teach their children basic disaster management skills to enable them defend themselves whenever calamity befell them.
Villagers who heard the night alarm from parents for help rushed to the scene but it was too late to rescue the victims who had already been enshrouded in the inferno and burnt beyond recognition.
