Three SEKU students perish after motorbike rams into stationary lorry

A sombre mood has engulfed South Eastern Kenya University’s (SEKU) main campus in Kitui county after three students lost their lives in a horrific road accident on yesterday night.

The tragic incident occurred yesterday evening when the motorbike three male students were riding collided with the back of a stationary lorry, resulting in their untimely deaths.

The impact was fatal, killing the trio on the spot.

Eyewitnesses describe a heart-wrenching scene as fellow students and passersby rushed to the site, only to be met with the grim reality of the tragic loss.

Police officers from Kwa Vonza Police Station arrived shortly after and launched investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

The bodies of the victims were moved to Kitui Level Four Hospital mortuary for preservation.

Kwa Vonza chief Ronald Mbuvi confirmed the incident, noting that the students were heading back to the university at the time of the accident.

The incident has sparked concerns over road safety in the area, with students and residents urging authorities to enhance traffic regulations to prevent such tragedies.
