Needy students in Teso North constituency have been urged to move with speed and apply for education bursaries before the deadline of February 4, 2024.

According to the timetable availed to Education News by the constituency’s NG-CDF office, all secondary school, college, special needs and university students who require financial assistance should apply for the bursaries at their respective wards by Sunday.

The office noted that the bursary application exercise began on January 30 in Malaba ward at the Kiriko Assistant County Commissioner’s grounds from 8 am to 5 pm.

Other wards where the exercise is ongoing include; Angurai North, Malaba North, Angurai East and Malaba Central.

The venues for the exercise are; Akiriamet TTC, Jairos Cooperative Society grounds, Chamasir Chief’s Camp, Achunet Stadium and Kakapel Community Center.

All bursary applicants are required to ensure they possess report forms/transcripts for continuing students, fee structure or fee balance note duly signed and rubber-stamped, a copy of students’ identification card (if available), a copy of parents/guardians’ identification card and a copy of their birth certificates.

Teso North MP Oku Kaunya warned the bursary committee members to exercise transparency and accountability during the six-day exercise to ensure that only the deserving cases are considered, adding that stern action will be taken against members who violate the directive.
