Tension has risen at St. Augustine Mlimani Secondary School in Lugari sub-county, following a fire that damaged a dormitory.
The Principal Fernandez Musi told Education News that the fire started around 8:15 pm last evening.
He said that he and the teachers were in their office watching TV when they heard a scream from the dormitory area.
They arrived at the scene and discovered the fire. They managed to extinguish the flames using water and fire extinguishers, though some property was already destroyed.
The principal noted that there were no injuries as students were in preps at the time. The affected 80 students have been relocated.
