Former Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) official Edward Mike Lorot has urged parents in the country to take care of their children during this holiday.
Speaking to Education News in a recent interview, Lorot urged parents to be more vigilant in order to avoid current challenges among the youth like drug abuse, alcoholism, early pregnancy, early marriages and peer pressure syndrome.
Lorot said that during his youthful years, the element of discipline was highly regarded unlike today, advising parents in nomadic areas to take their children to boarding schools so that they can get quality education.
