Kakamega County Executive Committee Member for Education, Science, and Technology, Dr Bonface Okoth, has urged residents to take advantage of the ongoing bursary application window for 2025.
Speaking during a recent event in Kakamega, Dr Okoth emphasized the government’s commitment to providing quality education for students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
“The bursary programme is a lifeline for many families. We urge all eligible residents to apply before the January 17, 2025, deadline,” he stated.
Also in attendance was the Chief Officer for Education, Science, and Technology, Mariam Were, who echoed Dr Okoth’s sentiments.

She called on community stakeholders to help raise awareness about the bursary programme, highlighting its importance in ensuring that no deserving child is left behind due to a lack of information or guidance.
Residents are encouraged to visit their local ward administrators’ offices to submit their applications within the specified timeframe.
