A medical team of Korean doctors from Gyeonggi-do Province has trained students from Kabarnet Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) and medics from Baringo County Referral Hospital on emerging trends in the medical industry.

The 14-member team from South Korea comprised of three doctors who recently visited Korea for advanced training in their areas of specialties.

During the visit, the Korean doctors donated a fire engine and two ambulance vehicles costing 210,000 US Dollars (est. Ksh27.3 million) to provide much needed emergency support to hospitals in the county.

The medical crew who had an opportunity to attend to patients with neurological issues at the facility, decried the growing number of patients facing said difficulties.

“Gyeonggi-do Hospital is in an arrangement to airlift three patients diagnosed today with neurological challenges to Korea to solidify our good rapport with Baringo county government,” said Professor Im Soo Bin.

Baringo Governor Benjamin Cheboi, while receiving medical equipment at the facility, lauded the partners for the capacity-building opportunities provided to the doctors and expertise offered by attending to the patients.

Governor Cheboi said the spirit of partnership with Korean partners has played a key role in strengthening ties between the two nations.
