Students advised to enrol in TVET to gain technical skills

Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Regional Director for Nakuru and Baringo counties Muhamad Noor has encouraged parents to enrol their children in the vocational training centres to gain technical skills which are essential in their future life.

Speaking in Nakuru City Noor said Ministry of Education through State Department of TVET is committed to ensure all trainees gets quality technical skills that will be a fuel for economical agenda of this country.

“TVET graduates from various institutions are favourable for employment compared to students from other institutions of higher learning. We encourage parents to view TVET positively and allow their children to be admitted in these institutions,” said Noor.

He added that TVET create massive employment opportunity and Kenyans should support it to enable the country benefit from it.

Noor added that the government has provided state-of-the-art-equipment to TVET institutions and all trainees are able to use the equipment to gain skills.

Noor who was accompanied by his deputy Rosemary Kimani said the government will ensure all constituencies in Baringo and Nakuru have vocational centres.

“The government will ensure all constituencies have TVET institutions. We encourage parents to have their children to admitted. Kenyans have a right to be admitted at any institution from primary school level to university,” said Noor.

On her part Kimani, said that the government will conduct market campaign strategies to allow many youths join TVET institutions in Baringo and Nakuru.
