A state memorial service for the 21 learners who tragically lost their lives in the Hillside Endarasha Academy dorm fire on September 5 will be held today at Mweiga Stadium.
Earlier, Acting Central Regional Commissioner Pius Murugu said that the State will hold the requiem service in memory of the learners to enable families to honour their loved ones before their burials.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has already completed the identification of the victims through DNA matching.
He noted that affected families have faced immense grief and urged the community to support them during this difficult time.
Investigations into the cause of the fire are still ongoing, as authorities aim to uncover the circumstances surrounding the devastating incident.
