Egoji Teachers Training College men football team from Eastern on Tuesday June 11 knocked out Kaimosi TTC from Western region in a tense penalty shoot-out to set up a final encounter with Mosoriot from Rift Valley later tomorrow in the Kenya Teachers Colleges Sports Association National ball games in Machakos.
Egoji drew 1-1 in regular time in a captivating match played at the Machakos Teachers Training College.
The two teams then proceeded to penalties where Egoji pipped Kaimosi 3-2 to proceed to finals.
In pool B, Mosoriot beat Shanzu from Coast Region 4 – 1 in regular time in another semi-final encounter.
Shanzu will face Kaimosi in the play-offs for third place.
Eregi TTC women football team from Western taught their counterparts from Tambach a lesson beating them 4 – 0 in a largely one – sided encounter at the end of the semi-final duels.

Eregi will face Asumbi in the finals.
In men’s volleyball Mwingi TTC in Nairobi Region will face off with Rachuonyo from Nyanza in the finals.

In women’s volleyball, Chester Diploma College will play against Bondo TTC in the finals.
In men’s hockey, Murang’a TTC beat Migori 3-2 in penalties after a 1-1 draw in regular time.
Handball men finals will be between Kibabii and Kagumo.

However, the thriller of the day was a women’s basketball match between Asumbi and Kagumo where Asumbi won 37-26 baskets avenging the loss of their male colleagues who had earlier succumbed narrowly with 34 against 35 at the hands of Murang’a TTC from Central.
The ladies gave their all, charged on by their no-nonesense tactician Tobias Kaloo assisted by Mwaka Evans.

Asumbi later beat Kaimosi 46-36 to proceed to the finals.
“The standards are very high. The teams are fairly balanced and the winning margins are narrow,” said Mwaka.
The KTTSA Olympic model games which begun on June 3 close tomorrow after two weeks of action both on the track and in the fields.
