SHA issues guidelines on comprehensive medical scheme for civil servants

The Social Health Authority (SHA) has clarified and given guidance regarding the access to medical services for civil servants and their dependants.

Robert Ingasira the chief executive officer SHA has written to all healthcare providers in alignment with the public officer’s medical scheme regulations 2024 that as per the Public Officers Medical Scheme Fund (POMSF) which has commenced this year.

Civil servants and their dependents will access services similar to what was offered under the comprehensive medical insurance scheme.

Ingasira called on the health care providers to ensure that their staff at their facilities are updated to ensure seamless transition and experience for scheme beneficiaries.

Some of the benefits covered by the medical fund for civil servants include outpatient and inpatient services, annual medical checkups, and dental plus optical services for principal holders with six dependents.
