The Kenya Secondary School Sports Association (KSSSA) has rescheduled the term two national games, changing the dates to between August 4 and August 9.

Originally planned for July 29 to August 7, the revised dates were announced by KSSSA Secretary General David Ngugi.

According to Ngugi, the referees’ clinic will be held at Kisii School on August 1, with teams expected to arrive in Kisii on August 2. A tree-planting activity involving students, coaches, teachers, and other officials is scheduled for August 3.

The competition will feature events in football, netball, rugby 7s, volleyball, and racquet sports.

Kisii School will host football, netball, basketball 3×3, rugby 7s, table tennis, and badminton, while Cardinal Otunga High School in Mosocho will hold volleyball and football matches. Gusii Stadium will serve as the venue for the opening football match, finals, and other high-risk matches.

On July 24, a high-level delegation from KSSSA and the Ministry of Education visited the facilities and approved their condition.

The opening ceremony and first match are scheduled for August 4 at Gusii Stadium. Preliminary games will be held on August 5 and 6, with the semi-finals on August 7.

The finals and closing ceremony will take place on August 8, and teams are expected to depart Kisii the following day.

Ngugi also mentioned that the teams will travel to Kakamega for a 10-day camp before proceeding to Mbale, Uganda, for the Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSA) Championships.

“The teams will depart Kisii straight to Kakamega where they will be joined by teams that qualified for the regional event during Term One games,” said Ngugi.

Ngugi, along with KSSSA President Kipchumba Maiyo and Treasurer Kariuki Gikonyo, also highlighted that the regional event will occur from August 16 to August 28 at Amus College School and Bukedea Comprehensive School.

He expressed confidence that Kenyan teams will perform well and secure trophies at the regional competition.
