The body of a secondary school teacher in Kisii county was found dangling from an avocado tree on Monday morning after he disappeared the previous evening.
Kevin Gisemba, father of the deceased Vincent Mogeni’s father, said that his son was reported missing after leaving his homestead on Sunday evening following a quarrel with his wife.
He is said to have come from a drinking spree at a local bar where he sold his wife’s phone to buy more beer.
Upon inquiry of the phone by his wife when he came home, a quarrel ensued. He then left in a huff but never returned.
It was until Monday morning when his dangling body was discovered by school going children who alerted villagers.
The body was removed by Masimba Station police to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital for postmortem.
Villagers and teachers who spoke at his home described the deceased as a loving, polite and kind man who lived peacefully with all people but wondered why he took his life.
“He was always ready to assist anybody who was in need,” said neighbor, Mary Kwamboka.
Until his death, the deceased was an intern teacher of Mathematics at Metembe Secondary School in Nyaribari Masaba constituency.
