Adurkoit Girls Secondary School in Kapenguria, West Pokot County, registered low enrollment and was subsequently closed because of low student population.
Kapenguria Member of Parliament Moroto Samuel has promised to restore the glamour of the institution after constructing four classrooms all sponsored by the Kapenguria Constituency Development Fund.
He has further pledged to give additional KSh10 million which would give a meaningful facelift to the school and attract learners from far and wide.

Moroto has dispelled archaic traditional practices such as early and forced marriages, child labour and female genital mutilation stating that they have no place in the current world.
He also insisted that those found culpable will be prosecuted.
A good number of girls have out of school largely because of the menace of female genital mutilation, early marriages and hunger.
