A new tuition block constructed by Khwisero NG-CDF at Emwiru Mixed Day Secondary School in Kisa North Ward has been officially handed over to the institution.
The event was presided over by Khwisero Constituency Member of Parliament Christopher Aseka over the weekend.
This facility, consisting of 6 classrooms, a library and an ICT lab, will provide a conducive learning environment for students and teachers.
“In this latest milestone, we have now completed and handed over 17 storey tuition blocks across the constituency, reaffirming our commitment to education which remains a top priority,” said the MP.
To further support our students, we have introduced a subsidized lunch programme in all day secondary schools. Under this programme, learners now pay only Ksh. 1,000 per term for a nutritious and balanced meal, ensuring that they can focus on their studies without worrying about hunger.”
The school principal, Charles Shikuku, was grateful to disclose that last year, they recorded a huge improvement of 1.20 from a mean of 2.8 in the year 2023 to 4.7 in 2024.

He expressed that the school moved from position 21 in the Sub County to position 9 in 2024.

“That movement has given us the confidence of knowing that this year we shall surpass the target mean of 5.3, and we are working hard to ensure we move to the top 5 within the Sub County with a mean score of 5.3,” said the principal.
He lauded the stakeholders, Board of Management (BOM), sponsors of the school area politicians, parents and above all, the teachers he is working with for their concerted efforts to ensure the improvement is realized.
He pledged to work tirelessly to ensure that this year has zero E Grades and decried that the culture of getting Es in the school has to end, assuring the community of the school’s commitment to academic excellence.
