School in Kisii thrown into mourning as teacher dies mysteriously

The late Abraham Rogito was English Literature teacher at St Charles Lwanga Ichuni Girls.

A secondary school teacher, Abraham Rogito, who was employed by the Board of Management at St Charles Lwanga Ichuni Girls was found dead in his rental house, lying on his bed.

According to his uncle, Nathan Mogire, from Riabigutu village in Nyaribari Masaba Constituency, the family received information about the teacher’s disappearance and went to Keroka town, where they were shocked to discover his lifeless body.

The police in Keroka took the body to Gucha Hospital for a postmortem examination and an investigation.

Reports from the school indicated that the teacher had last been seen on Sunday at school after watching a football match on TV. Since then, he had not returned to school, and his body was subsequently found in his rental room in Keroka town.

The relatives of the deceased thanked the school’s principal, Benedidah Ogeto, and the school management team for assisting them with the arrangements for the postmortem and the investigation.

They stated that the teacher had no history of chronic illness that could have contributed to his death.

An aunt of the deceased, Eunice Nyaboke, requested local leaders for help in providing the family with the means to give the teacher a decent burial.

She said that the family has been struggling financially, having spent all their resources on his education.

She also noted that the deceased’s father lives with a physical disability, which hinders his ability to adequately support the family.
