In a significant boost to water accessibility, the Safaricom Foundation has donated two 10,000-litre capacity water tanks to St Paul’s Shibuye Primary School.
This initiative, facilitated by the Shinyalu Constituency MP Fred Ikana, aims to address the persistent water scarcity faced by the school, its staff, students, and the surrounding community.
During the handover ceremony, head teacher Casper Mumia expressed heartfelt gratitude to both the MP and Safaricom Foundation.

“These tanks will play a crucial role in alleviating our water challenges,” he said, emphasizing the importance of reliable water storage for the institution.
He lauded Ikana’s commitment to developing schools in the constituency saying such focused leaders should be given enough time to develop their areas of jurisdiction.
The MP reiterated his pledge to enhance water access, highlighting earlier achievements, including the installation of a solar-powered water system at new Shivakala Primary School earlier this year, which now benefits not just students but the wider community.
