Joseah Kiplangat Cheruiyot has been appointed as the new board Chairperson of The Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC).
Mr. Kiplangat will be taking the post which was held by his predecessor Zachary Maburi Mwita whose appointment was revoked by President William Ruto on Friday through a Gazette Notice.
Also, the institution’s board members saw a reshuffle after the Health Cabinet Secretary Susan Nakhumicha revoked the appointment of four board members.
The CS fired Naomi Kathure Mutua, Stephen Ochiel, Jennifer Bosibori Kibagendi and Fredrick Wamwaki.
She named Paul Kaino Cheboi, Eunice Wangui Karanja, Hardlyne Lusui, and Joseph Ouma Atonga as the new members and are expected to be in office for the next three years as their appointments will lapse in August 2026.
At the same time, the head of state has named David Ndegwa Nyokabi as the non-executive chairperson of the Kenya National Public Health Institute (KNPHI) a post that was held by Mr. Gerald Macharia.
“The appointment of Gerald Macharia is revoked,” reads the notice.
Nyokabi’s appointment for a period of three years takes effect from August 18.
