Revered Kesogon clears path to defend national title in volleyball

The secondary school volleyball queens of the country, Kesogon Girls, are yet again the Trans Nzoia East champions on their way to defend their national title.

Under head coach Emmanuel Mukoya, the girls demonstrated their intent by defeating St Francis Suwerwa 3-0, with set scores of 25:7, 25:8, and 25:5 in the final of the Trans-Nzoia East championship at Kipkeikei grounds.

Kesogon will face the representatives of Kwanza, Kwanza Girls, in the Trans-Nzoia County championship. Led by Ruth Nyongesa, they won 3-1 against St Monica’s, with set scores of 25:20, 22:25, 25:19, and 25-21.

In netball, Meteitei defeated St Monica’s 26-15 in the final. Meteitei’s head coach Elias Kariuki praised his players for their hard work from the first match to the final, marking their first qualification for the county finals.

The Rugby 7s defending champions Bwake Boys showed their dominance by winning all their matches in the Trans-Nzoia East championship without conceding a single point.

They started by defeating Seum 60-0, then Sinoko 37-0, Sinyereri 50-0, Noigam 45-0, and finally Michai 40-0 at Bwake Cherangany grounds.

Wiyeta made a strong statement by defeating St Francis Suwerwa 5-1 in the soccer final. They will now face Kwanza Girls for a ticket to the county competitions.
