Residents of Sogoo in Narok County have decried what they term as being sidelined in the disbursement of county and NG-CDF bursaries.
Led by former MCA Jefferson Langat, they said the trend has left students frustrated and hopeless, with some discontinuing their education.
Speaking at a meeting in the area, Langat said students from the area, just like others from other parts of the country, have a right to get the funds.
“Residents in this area only hear about bursaries but have never benefited. This trend has left our students hopeless and frustrated,” Langat said.

He questioned why they have been left on their own, yet politicians seeking elections to various positions usually visit the area to seek votes.
According to him, residents usually seek services from Ololulunga, which is many kilometres away, a situation he described as unacceptable.
Langat also raised concerns over discrimination against youths from the area when recruiting teachers, stating that some graduates have remained jobless for over 20 years.
“We want this area gazetted as Amalo Constituency before 2027. It should not be our Children who graduate from college and remain jobless for over 20 years. Enough is enough,” added Langat.
The residents now want the area gazetted as an Amalo constituency before the 2027 elections, urging elected leaders to support the push fully.
