Reagan Baraka, a Kapenguria resident, is becoming a household name in the football world thanks to his incredible goalkeeping record.
Born in West Pokot County in 2004, he finished his secondary education recently. The swift and talented goalkeeper attended Tilak Primary School from class 1 to 8.
He then joined Kamito Secondary in the same county before proceeding to Lugusi Secondary School in Kakamega County for Form 2 and 3.
He then returned to complete his Form 4 education at Galib Lityei Secondary School in 2023.
In all the schools he attended, he was the first-choice goalkeeper during football tournaments.
He has constantly played for Kapenguria Youth FC, Kapenguria Heroes FC and currently he plays for Chewoyet FC – a Division 2 club.
Notably, he featured in the Talanta Hela tournament held in Nairobi last year with his club making quarter-finals.
While playing for Kapenguria FC, Reagan participated in Chapa Dimba Tournament which was played at Makutano Stadium in Kapenguria. His team reached the inter-counties level.
As his star continues to shine, Baraka wishes to play for any big team in Kenya or outside the country.
He applauds his coach Mr. Elvis Mwanga and the whole technical bench at Chewoyet and Kapenguria FC for sharpening his goalkeeping skills.
“Discipline and adhering to instructions plus team work are very important in any sport,” Baraka said.
