PS wants NGCDF to surrender stalled KMTC project to govt

The stalled Kilungu KMTC in Kaiti Constituency. PS for Devolution Terry Mbaika wants it surrendered to the health ministry for speedy completion.

Devolution Principal Secretary (PS) Terry Mbaika wants stalled Kilungu KMTC project to be handed over to the Ministry of Health as the NGCDF has failed to complete it.

The Ksh75-million project was launched in 2020, but speaking at Kyale Catholic Church, Mbaika said the project has been delayed on purpose for political reasons.

She emphasized that the project should not be used for political gain, adding that if the government took it over, it would already be finished and ready to enroll students.

“The project is stuck because NGCDF funds are limited and must cover many needs. I ask the MP to write to the Ministry of Health so they can take over and finish the project, as the ministry has sufficient funds,” Mbaika said.

“If he won’t do that, we, as Kaiti residents, will come together to demand the letter from him. This is not a personal issue but something important for the community,” she added, observing that once completed, the project would boost the local economy and help the area grow.

“The project shouldn’t be delayed for selfish reasons. Just think of the benefits it would bring. You can campaign for re-election without holding back projects from the people,” Mbaika said.

Mbaika also promised to push for a TVET institution and to improve electricity access for locals in the region.
