Prof. Wilson Kipkoech Ng’etich will from tomorrow Friday June 9, 2023 take over the leadership of the University of Eldoret after the term of Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof. Teresa Akenga ended on Thursday.

In a notice to varsity staff and students dated June 8, 2023 signed by the Chairman of University Council Dr. Ismail Buro Hassan, Prof. Ng’etich who is currently serving as the University Deputy Vice-chancellor in charge of Administration and Finance will serve for a period of six months or until the appointment of a substantive Vice-Chancellor.

While announcing the changes, Dr. Buro thanked the outgoing VC for her exemplary work which has seen the institution grow tremendously during her tenure in terms of student enrollment, infrastructure development and human resource; a growth that he said made the University be recognised both locally and globally as a premier institution of higher learning.

“We wish to notify all University staff and students that the term of the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Teresa Akenga ends today Thursday June 8, 2023 after serving the University of Eldoret as its first Vice-chancellor for the last 10 years since her appointment on June 9, 2013,” announced Dr. Buro in the notice.
