Secondary school principals in Kitui County have been asked to utilize capitation grants for the intended purposes.
Speaking during the official closing ceremony of Kitui KESSHA Annual Conference held at Maasai Beach Hotel in Mombasa County, Kitui County director of Education (CDE) Khalid Hassan warned that principals found to have misappropriated school funds will be dealt with accordingly.
He further urged Boards of Management (BoMs) in the county to fence off their school land in a bid to keep potential land grabbers at bay.
The CDE asked education stakeholders in the region to ensure 100 per cent transition to secondary school, adding that improvement in academic standards is a collective responsibility of all.
