President William Ruto is expected to grace the opening of the Agricultural Society of Kenya (ASK) agricultural show at Kabiru-ini grounds in Nyeri today.

While addressing the press on Tuesday, ASK Nyeri branch Chairman, Patrick Karinga, stated that while it is yet to be confirmed, they are expecting him to launch the show which will run from September 11 to 14.

“As you can see, officers from the Kenya Air Force are actively preparing at the grounds. We cannot yet confirm the President’s attendance, but we are hopeful. Preparations are in full swing,” Karinga said.

He assured the public that security measures were already in place, urging them to show up in large numbers.

“I’ve held numerous meetings with senior officials from the KDF, Kenya Police, Administration Police, Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS), Kenya Forest Service (KFS), and Kenya Prisons. We can confidently assure the public that security has been adequately reinforced,” he said.

The event’s theme, ‘Promoting Climate-Smart Agriculture and Trade Initiatives for Sustainable Economic Growth’ underscores this commitment.

“We are excited to present a wide array of agricultural and trade innovations, with over 170 exhibitors participating. The show remains a crucial platform for sharing knowledge, showcasing new innovations, and advancing technology.” Karinga concluded.
