Kirinyaga police have launched a manhunt for criminals who murdered a night guard at Kibirigwi Girls Secondary School in Kirinyaga West sub-county last night.
The criminals managed to access the school’s compound after they immobilized the night guard by injuring him after he spotted and started questioning them.
The guard died while being rushed to the hospital.
According to Kirinyaga County Commissioner Hussein Allasow, investigations have begun despite the thugs destroying CCTV cameras.
He said that the thugs managed to get to the administration offices where they tied the Deputy Principal (DP) and other present teachers with ropes, before breaking into a safe they believed had money.

They found no money and resorted to stealing the Deputy Principal’s vehicle, which they used to flee.
The school’s security team boss assured parents that students were safe and under police guard, urging them not to panic as investigations had already kicked off.
