Photo of police nursing child as mother sits KCSE goes viral

Inspector Felix Otieno Omollo holds a KCSE candidate's child as she sat her exams. This photo went viral as Kenyans poured their hearts for the touching gesture in spite of his position and rank.

A photo of  a police officer baby-sitting a child for a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) candidate in Tharaka Nithi County has gone viral after Kenyans shared it on various social media sites.

The kind-hearted and humane gesture melted the hearts of Kenyans online, with many applauding the officer for going beyond the call of duty to assist at a critical and important moment.

Felix Otieno Omollo, who is an Inspector of Police at Ciakariga Police Station in Tharaka Nithi, gained fame after he went beyond his call of duty to care for a KCSE candidate’s child as she sat her exams.

Many have lauded Omollo’s action as a true display of humanity and exemplifies the spirit of community service.

Omollo was stationed at an exam centre where he was manning the exercise when he noticed the young mother needed assistance. He didn’t hesitate even for a moment as he was later seen holding and calming the baby and thus allowing the mother to focus on her exams.

His act was a beautiful gesture, especially during such a critical time for both the mother and the child.

The compassionate act was captured in a photo that quickly spread like bush fire across social media, where Kenyans praised him for his empathy and dedication.
