Kakamega church’s New House of Grace apostle, Ken Barasa, has urged pastors who have not studied theology to register in sub counties and wards to receive scholarships from Focus University, which is based in the United States.
Speaking during a church conference involving 250 Bishops drawn from 12 sub counties, Apostle Barasa, who is also the County Chaplain, said that due to changes in government, pastors without certificates will be barred from presiding over wedding ceremonies and burial programmes.

He said the conference aimed to train pastors capable of preaching. Still, he did not have a chance to enrol in Bible colleges, adding that others enrolled in them, but their certificates were not recognized in Kenya.
“We have united in collaboration with Focus University from the US to train pastors to pursue Theology, bearing that the university has come closer. Empowering the community through the church is one way of embracing the five pillars of Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa,” said the apostle.

County Secretary Dr Lawrence Omuhaka, speaking on behalf of Governor Barasa, who was out of the country for official duty, highlighted that the county government works closely with the church on development projects, including schools for public benefit.
In partnership with the Ccunty government, the church event was about project evaluation and aired pending areas.
