Parents in Matungulu asked to monitor children this April holiday

Parents in Matungulu Sub-county have been advised to monitor their children not to be involved in drug abuse and other vices that may ruin their lives during the April-May holiday.

Tala assistant county commissioner Sarah Wanjiru said some students join bad company during the holidays and end up learning bad behaviour which interferes with their academics.

She asked parents to be vigilant especially on the boys who make friends with people who are not students.

She said parents should know about their children’s whereabouts and what they are up to.

“I ask parents to monitor their children. I want all students to go back in school in good health when the holiday is over,” Wanjiru said yesterday during opening of Tala Chief’s office build by NG-CDF project.

She warned the students against engaging in immoral behaviour which may lead to contracting of sexually transmitted diseases.
