Parents in Kangundo Sub-county of Machakos have been urged to keenly monitor their children and stop them from idling around in trading centres, markets and towns during this short break.
Isinga Chief Lenny Kilonzo said allowing children to mingle with all sorts of people could expose them to drugs, alcohol and other antisocial behaviour.
He noted that when they are not monitored, especially during school short breaks, or when they are not in school, children risked falling into wrong company or becoming crime victims.

“Children must be protected during the short breaks to ensure that they do not get into wrong company or become victims of crime,” Kilonzo told journalists yesterday during an interview in his office.
