Makueni County Woman Representative Rose Museo has called upon parents and guardians to support minors dropping out of school due to early pregnancy to continue with their education after delivery.
Speaking when launching a dormitory at Green Land Girls High School in Kibwezi Sub-county, a school that gives second chances to young mothers, Museo noted that early pregnancy is not the end of life.
“We cannot let the future of these young girls to die due to pregnancy; there is always a second chance in education. As government, parents and stakeholders, let us empower these young mothers in their studies,” Museo said.
The county MP gave a stern warning to parents involving their girls in abortion and family planning, arguing that abortion is illegal and against the will of God.

The school director Ronald Maingi revealed that the school has 88 young mothers. He encouraged the community to make sure that no young mother stays at home after delivery.
Maingi called upon good Samaritan’s to donate materials and any other support because there are 30 more students willing to join but he has stretched the resources beyond limits.
Asked about why he started such a school, he said he was motivated when someone sponsored him from a young age in his education and he promised himself that he will help others one day.
“I looked at who needs serious help around and I saw girls struggling a lot to complete their education after dropping out of school due to pregnancy,” he added.
