The parent of a student from Bogwendo Primary school in Kitutu Masaba constituency of Nyamira County is crying for justice over her allegedly slain son.
Vanish Mokaya Onyoni said that in May this year, she was called to report at the school urgently without any explanation.
When she reported, she was dumbfounded on discovering that her 16-year-old son, Alex Mokaya had died and the body was aboard a police vehicle.
“The body had bruises on the neck and a big hole on the back,” she said amid sobs.
She narrated how the police guided her to accompany the body to Nyamira County Hospital Mortuary after recording a statement with them.
According to the suspect’s grandfather Mr. James Onyoni Akama, he was shocked beyond measure on learning that his grandchild had murdered his mate.
“I was told that my grandson had killed his cousin with a knife. I couldn’t believe it,” he said.
Nyamira Police boss confirmed arrest of the suspect.
He said that investigations were over and asked the deceased’s family to be maintain peace and await the court’s verdict on the matter.
“The case will be heard in the court of law next month,” he said.
He promised justice will be served and on the same breath asked for patience from the deceased’s family and the public.
